Quantum Astronaut goes viral

We had all heard about things going viral on social media but have never been this close to it. When Julian posted a snapshot video he took with his phone, it struck a chord with people worldwide. The "Quantum Astronaut" kept getting more and more views, likes, and comments. Last time we checked, it had over 80 million views and over 3 million likes. Julian went from having 29,000 followers to more than 180,000 now. As his main representative, we are responsible for answering all online inquiries that come to him. For the last few weeks, we have answered hundreds and hundreds of emails with requests from art collectors and developers from all over the globe.

It had happened once before when AOL created a short video about Julian's work, but in comparison, it fetched 5 million views to date.

This is, of course, a wonderful development for Julian's career, and we can already see an increase in sales, but at the same time, it will impact waiting times.

Update about lead time/waiting time

Over the course of last season, (almost) all immediately available sculptures have sold, and we have transitioned to collectors and clients ordering the next exemplar in the edition if available. The studio is working at full capacity, building already-sold sculptures, so we will not get any sculptures for immediate sale for a while. Except for a handful of works that are immediately available, everything has to be produced when ordered.

The lead time for orders is comprised of the production time, which is usually 3-5 months depending on the complexity of the sculpture and the waiting time until previous orders have been filled since Julian can only work on a limited amount of sculptures at one time.

Currently, the total lead time for new orders is 9 to 12 months. We can still try for delivery for selected sculptures in November/December 2023. Still, every new acquisition increases the lead time for new orders, and it is best to plan for delivery in 2024.

Commissions require extra time, and every new order increases the waiting time, so if you are considering a work by Julian Voss-Andreae, we would like to start the conversation with you.

HOW TO VIEW

We understand that it is not convenient having to make a buying decision without being able to see the work in person. We usually have some works in the gallery that await delivery and we have placed many sculptures in the area. We can make arrangements for you to see a comparable sculpture at one of our collectors' homes with some notice.

We have also produced videos of many of the available works to give you a better impression.

Over the last three years, Julian's career has accelerated quite dramatically even without the impact of social media. The placement of public sculptures in the US, Mexico, Germany, France, and Switzerland as well as the placement of sculptures into private collections all around the world has amplified interest in his work.
